SIMetrix/SIMPLIS
Advanced Simulation Software for Power Electronics Design
SIMetrix/SIMPLIS is a high-performance simulation solution for efficient
power electronics design. Combining two powerful simulators, it delivers a stable,
easy-to-use environment that balances speed and accuracy.
SIMetrix, built on a SPICE engine, provides excellent convergence
for mixed analog and digital circuits, while SIMPLIS, a Piecewise
Linear (PWL) simulator optimized for switching power circuits, delivers
10x to 50x faster simulation speeds compared to traditional SPICE-based tools.
Trusted by semiconductor companies, electronics manufacturers,
and research institutions worldwide, SIMetrix/SIMPLIS has become a
standard tool for power electronics design verification and
pre-power stability analysis.
- SIMetrix :SPICE simulation optimized for mixed-signal (analog/digital) circuits
- SIMPLIS : Accelerate SMPS analysis with simulation speeds 10x to 50x faster than traditional SPICE-based tools
- Delivers high accuracy, rapid simulation speeds, and superior convergence
- Maximize design productivity by providing an intuitive, user-friendly integrated environment
Core Functions
-
High-Speed
Simulation Engine -
A Piecewise Linear (PWL) analysis engine optimized for power electronics significantly reduces long transient analysis time for switching circuits by up to 50x compared to conventional SPICE tools.
-
POP Analysis
(Periodic Operating Point)
-
A unique SIMPLIS feature that skips lengthy transient simulations and directly determines the steady-state periodic operating point of switching circuits, dramatically improving overall simulation speed.
-
AC Analysis
-
Based on POP results, performs small-signal AC analysis directly in the time domain without using averaged models, enabling fast and accurate extraction of key frequency response characteristics such as Bode plots.
-
Extensive
Libraries & Modeling -
Provides industry-validated power electronics component libraries, including diodes, MOSFETs, and controllers. With an intuitive user interface and model editor, complex circuits can be easily designed and simulated.
Optional Module
DVM
(Design Verification Module)
Easily configure various circuit parameters such as input voltage and load conditions using a GUI-based test plan editor, and automatically perform batch simulations. After simulation, automatically generated detailed reports allow quick verification of whether design specifications are met by comparing expected performance with simulation results.
*Available in: SIMetrix/SIMPLIS Classic, Pro, Elite
MDM
(Magnetics Design Module)
Supports precise modeling of inductors and transformers by considering key material properties and physical structures such as windings and cores. This enables simultaneous optimization of circuits and magnetic components, minimizing component size and power loss while improving real-world performance, including saturation prevention and thermal management.
*Available in: SIMPLIS Classic, Pro, Elite
SIMPLIS VH
(Verilog-HDL Co-simulation)
Integrates the SIMPLIS analog engine with a Verilog-HDL digital engine to analyze and verify digital control ICs within a real application analog circuit environment, without the need for a separate testbench.
*Available in: SIMPLIS Pro, Elite
